Intelligent security system

Intelligent security system

Thanks to the latest Dynamic II control system, there are many options for securing stored files or secret files. The multifunctionality of the control panel makes it very flexible. For many of our clients, on special request, the racks have been secured with RFID cards. Dynamic II allows you to program access cards with a different frequency range. Their wide range of compatibility creates unlimited possibilities, which means that one card can be used for many units.

World-renowned University of St Andrews chooses Compactus shelving units

World-renowned University of St Andrews chooses Compactus shelving units

Compactus Dynamic II XTR Series shelving has helped renovate the library at the world-renowned University of St Andrews in Scotland. St Andrews Library is one of the largest and oldest academic libraries in the UK. The university was founded in 1413, and the impressive library has a collection of more than one million books, some of which date back to the early 15th century. The mobile shelving supplied is one of the first large-scale projects using environmentally friendly steel. The steel has the lowest CO2 impact available today. It meets sustainability goals!

Like many other universities, the University of St Andrews is struggling with a growing student population and limited space to study and work. St Andrews wants to use its existing buildings and spaces wisely and efficiently to contribute to its sustainability vision of achieving "net zero" by 2035. According to the UN1, buildings account for nearly 40% of annual CO2 emissions worldwide.

By partially relocating the book collection and choosing a library equipped with mobile shelving (instead of conventional static shelving), St Andrews could create 500 new learning spaces. This saved a lot of CO2 emissions, money and time, and solved the need to invest in an expensive new addition. Overall, opting for mobile solutions instead of static ones allows the building to be laid out much more efficiently, by up to 50%.

The company must have a company archive

A company archive is an organizational unit in an office, institution, enterprise or social organization that deals with taking over archival materials (cat. A) and non-archival documentation (cat. B, BE, Bc) that is not needed for current office (activities) and their temporary storage, recording, sharing, missing and transferring materials that deserve permanent storage to the appropriate state archives
Pursuant to the provisions of the Act of July 14, 1983 on the National Archives Resource and Archives, company archives are established only in those organizational units that produce archival materials (category A files). Under this Act, such units are subject to archival supervision of relevant state archives.
In organizational units that do not produce archival materials, non-archival documentation is stored in file stores. However, the rules governing the storage of files differ from those applicable to plant archives. Company archives in central units and institutions are appointed by the Chief Director of State Archives, while in other units they are appointed by directors of relevant state archives.
The company's archive is aimed at collecting all documentation in the institution (after the storage time specified in the office instructions has elapsed in the appropriate organizational unit), regardless of which archival category it has been classified in. The unique technical documentation has been qualified as archival materials of historical value.
The company archive has two functions: it relieves individual organizational units from documentation that is no longer needed for current office, but whose mandatory storage has not yet expired, and protects and stores, and if necessary organizes, archival materials that are to be sent after 25 or more years to the state archives.

The largest ever order

The prestigious project houses more than 7 million British Columbia artifacts and archives. The new Collections and Research Building (CRB) is scheduled to open in 2026. The current museum, founded in 1886, attracts millions of visitors every year. The value of the project exceeds EUR 18 million, making it one of the largest orders in history. Notably, this project is one of the first to use low carbon steel.

We hope that the trends set by the previous year will continue, and we will continue to materialize projects for the arrangement of electric and manual sliding racks.

How to equip a museum with sliding shelves?

How to equip a museum with sliding shelves?

Design of equipment for the agricultural museum the name of priest Krzysztof Kluk in Ciechanowiec required a lot of sophisticated and non-standard accessories, such as drawers, compartments, shelves with increased durability, clothes rails, rollers (rolls) for maps, etc. The company Międzynarodowe Centrum Budownictwa Sp. z o.o. from Warsaw, specializes in the implementation of museum furnishings so that each object can be properly stored. We care about the quality and functionality of workmanship, which makes using our electric shelves with our accessories a pure pleasure.

LED rack lighting

LED rack lighting

LED aisle lights turn on automatically when the aisle is open. In a Dynamic II system (mobile racks with electric drive), the lights turn off automatically after a certain amount of time.

LED lighting has the important feature of having low levels of UV and infrared radiation. This makes LED lighting extremely suitable if sensitive items are stored. It prevents light damage to the items. The lack of UV radiation also has the property that the lighting will hardly fade or yellow (fluorescent lighting will yellow quickly). In addition, due to the lack of infrared radiation, LED lighting emits little heat, is much more energy efficient than traditional lighting, and has a very long life (over 35,000 hours of illumination).

The dimensions and number of luminaires for the corridor are based on an average luminous flux of 150 LUX measured at a distance of 1 meter from floor level.

It is also possible to use inter-rack LED lighting in mobile shelving with manual (crank) drive.
